March 27th, 2011
Very cool morning. Very well organized. Went like clockwork. Shuttle buses offered to take the runners to the start line in downtown Dallas. We ran the 13 miles back to Fair Park.
So far this has been my personal best in Texas. Goal is to get to under 2 hrs.

Dallas White Rock Half Marathon
Dec 5th, 2010
Dallas Texas
The race starts in Fair Park and goes through down town Dallas. Great crowds. It is pretty cold given that the rose is in December. Of all the races I have run, this was the coldest. Great assortment of food snacks at the end of the run. Several people in Dallas do this race.

Tyler Rose Half Marathon
Tyler was my first run as an official resident of Texas. Tyler is a pretty little town an hr east of Dallas. Lots of green vegetation. The run took you through an older very pretty shady neighborhood. The race was part of Tyler's Annual Rose parade. My relatives in Tyler attended the race. It was nice to have a lot of family

Red White and Blue Marathon
July 4th, 2010
Minneapolis MN
Red, White and Boom is a new marathon. Around the 2nd miles, the skies opened and it started pouring heavily. This can be very mentally distracting. On the 3rd mile, I caught up with young lady who was carrying the Stars and Stripes flag. She was drenched like all of us, but was determined to hold up that flag. I think that is where I got my inspiration. As the rain continued to pour, the air smelt of moisturizers and sun screen lotion. The food at the end of the run was great. The organizers were very lavish in handing out food and drinks. The selection was good. I will highly recommend this run.

Scheels Fargo Marathon 2009
May 09 2009,
It took me 3.5 hours to get to Fargo from Minneapolis.
The race started at the Fargo dome. There is plenty of parking around the Dome. This race is a big event in Fargo. Several Canadians come across to run this race. Both the Canadian National Anthem and the US anthem were played at the start.
Huge turn out of spectators. There must have been atleast 5000 spectators. This is the first race I used an iPod. One spectator had her own bottled water that she brought to the race to offer the runners. I thought that was very cool. You finish up at the Dome. As you race into the Dome, the cheering gets so loud.
A lot of similarities between this race and Grandma's with the small town hospitality.
I thought it was a little disorganized at the food line in the end. But the food was great.
The medal they give is very cool. Big and heavy.
I would definetly recommend this race.

Grandmas half marathon
June 21, 2008
This was the best half marathon in the mid west. Duluth is a small port on Lake Michigan....with truly a small midwestern charm.
As we started off, a sortie of F14's crossed over our heads which was really cool. The run is mostly by the Lake, so there is a cool lake breeze that is soothing to the laboring runner.
At the 9.00 mile, a few onlookers offered cups of beer, which I politely declined. The race finishes up by the Harbor. A big red ship was pulling into the harbor as I came up the finish line.

Chicago Banco Half Marathon
September 14,. 2008
Run started from the Chicago's Hyde park and went up along the Lake Shore drive. It rained heavily. I ran with a family relative Joe Puthur. 16000 runners was a lot of people to compete against. Starting was very hard because the crowd were quite tight. In my struggle to get to the start line, I ran through a muddy field. Due to the large number of runners I spent quite some time dodging among people before I could settle into a comfortable pace. Not too hilly course.
You run on Lake Shore Drive. I was amazed at the number of spectators who came out despite the rainy conditions
At the end, it started pouring. I would recommend this run. I plan to do it in 2009.
